The first G13 academy in Colorado opens on the I-25 frontage road. There are two ways to start: take a free intro class and see if it is for you, or become one of the 50 founding members and lock a rate that never goes up. Adults, teens and kids from age four.

One costs nothing and answers the question. The other costs less every month, for as long as you train.

Forty five minutes on the mat before you decide anything. No card, no contract, and nobody follows you to the parking lot. Come train, or sit and watch a full class first.
Public pricing at launch will be higher than the founder rate.
Most people start with the free class. Founding membership is there for the ones who already know.
The G13 Standard
A Global Jiu-Jitsu Powerhouse — Now in Colorado
G13 isn’t a startup gym. It’s one of the most respected names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on earth — a proven methodology, a real belt system, and a culture forged across two decades. For the first time, that standard is coming to Colorado. As a founder, you’re not joining an experiment. You’re joining a legacy on day one.

The Lineage
Built by Master Roberto Godoi
It started in 1992 in a small room behind a house in São Paulo. From those roots, Master Roberto Godoi — a 6th-degree black belt with over 30 years on the mats — built G13 into a worldwide institution founded in 2013.
Every G13 academy teaches the same proven system: structured curriculum, a clear belt pathway, and a culture of discipline and accountability. Colorado will be no different.

Your Chance to Build It From Zero.
Founders shape the culture of a brand-new academy — the schedule, the community, the energy on the mat. You get the global G13 system with the intimacy of a home gym you helped create. Once we open, this moment is gone.
A room is only as good as the people standing in it. Here is who is standing in this one.

Carlos Eduardo “Kadu”
Featured Black Belt Athlete
Kadu is our featured black belt athlete, and he is G13. He did not come to us from outside the family, he came up inside it, under the same system and the same standard this room is built on. Over forty titles, a Pan-American championship won at fourteen, and back to back NAGA Philadelphia titles. Having that level of jiu-jitsu in the room raises the standard for everyone who trains here, from the very first class on.

Mike Barthlow
Co-Owner · Brown Belt
Mike came to jiu-jitsu from Division One college athletics and a career as a Marine officer. He is a brown belt, and he won the Masters 5 Open Class world title as a blue belt. He and Lori built a school around its community once before, and they are doing it again here for Mead and the towns around it.

Lori Barthlow
Co-Owner · Mental Performance Coach
Lori runs G13 Colorado alongside Mike. She is a mental performance coach and a former collegiate All-American gymnast, so she knows the sport side from the inside. Mind Over Athlete is her own practice, and it is where the harder half of jiu-jitsu gets dealt with: the nerves, the bad weeks, the voice that says you do not belong here yet.

Beyond the Mat
Train the Mind, Not Just the Body
Jiu-jitsu tests you mentally long before it tests you physically. The nerves before a roll. The frustration of a bad week. The voice that says you don’t belong on the mat yet.
That’s why G13 Colorado members have access to Mind Over Athlete — mental performance coaching with Lori Barthlow, right here in our community.
Confidence for beginners stepping on the mat for the first time
Focus and composure for competitors under pressure
Mindset and resilience for kids and teens
Mind Over Athlete is an independent service, arranged directly with Lori — it is not part of your G13 membership. Sessions are individual and by appointment.
The first questions people ask, whether they are coming to try a class or signing on as a founder.
Yes. Forty five minutes, no card and no contract. You reserve a time, show up in a t-shirt and shorts, train or just watch a full class, and decide afterwards. Pick a class time here.
No. Founding membership is for people who already know they want in and want the rate locked before we open. Everyone else is welcome to start with the free class and take their time. Most people do exactly that.
Adult and Kids memberships enroll online in a couple of minutes — pick your plan and secure your founder rate with a $100 registration fee. For Family plans, share your details and our team sets everything up with you personally. Either way, your founder rate is locked for life.
The one-time $100 registration covers your first official G13 uniform and rashguard. You’ll pick them up at your first class, so you’re fully outfitted and ready to train from day one.
We’re opening by September 15, 2026 at our academy in Mead, CO (Lyons 66 Commercial Center, Unit C5, 13790 E. I-25 Frontage Rd). Founding members get first access as opening day approaches.
Yes. As long as your membership stays active and in good standing, your founder rate never increases — even as public pricing rises and new programs are added.
Class scheduling opens on September 15, 2026, our opening at the Mead academy. Once you’re a founding member, you’ll be able to book classes right from this page as soon as scheduling goes live.
The Family founder plan is $249/month for the first two members, plus $99/month for each additional member. It covers every program for your immediate family, all ages.
Kids 4–13 (Little Kids 4–7, Youth 8–13), Teens 14–18 train in adult classes, and Adults of all ages and levels — from total beginner to advanced.
